Kataryn Tataryn is the couturier and founder of House Tataryn Fashion, an emergent boutique redefining haute couture through their focus on long-term environmental sustainability and human rights. Kataryn has personally designed and produced hundreds of unique pieces, breaking the boundaries of the traditional apparel supply chain by upcycling, repurposing and reusing materials that would otherwise have been discarded to pollute developing countries around the world. Kataryn draws some of their inspiration from designers Alexander Mcqueen, Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood, and Simon Chang valuing their willingness to go against the grain of established tradition and their philanthropic investments. Katarayn’s life was indelibly affected by their time in the foster care system. Having been abandoned by their mother as a child, they had to raise themselves and endure immense hardship and pain as a ward of the state. Experiencing and overcoming these struggles have given them a determination and drive unmatched in the industry. During their childhood, Kataryn observed first hand the appalling conditions that children across the world are subjected to by the fast fashion industry. This had a life-long impact on their worldview and is one of the primary driving forces behind their passion for sustainability and workers rights. Kataryn strongly believes that reinvesting in the local community and maintaining mental health support and services are vital House Tataryn Fashion offers a wide variety of bespoke apparel and accessories, each piece is lovingly handcrafted in Ottawa Canada by Kataryn and featured on https://www.instagram.com/housetataryn/
